Kutenai Outreach

"Kutenai Outreach" is a community forum in the Kootenays, with a focus on Nelson, BC, dedicated to supporting those experiencing homelessness by uniting community members, service providers, and those with lived experiences to address issues like addiction, mental health, and social exclusion. Through storytelling, resource sharing, housing advocacy, and therapeutic support, we strive to amplify voices, educate, and foster community engagement while advocating for policy changes and cultural sensitivity, especially towards Indigenous populations. Our activities include monthly gatherings, workshops on mental health and harm reduction, story circles for healing and education, resource fairs, and advocacy campaigns aimed at improving the lives of the most vulnerable, turning community empathy into tangible action and change.
